Adult Day Care
Here at A-Med Realty group we specialize in the selling and leasing medical / healthcare related businesses and real estate. Our services include:
Day Care Facilities: Adult Day Care facilities for both elderly and developmentally disabled, Adult Day Health Care Centers (ADHC)/Community Based Adult Services (CBAS), and Non-Public Schools for individuals with developmental disabilities.
Adult Day Care facilities for both elderly and developmentally disabled:
A community-based facility or program that provides care to persons 18 years of age or older in need of personal services, supervision, or assistance essential for sustaining the activities of daily living or for the protection of these individuals on less than a 24-hour basis. Funding sources include private pa, manage care benefits, veterans benefits and regional centers.
Adult Day Health Care Centers (ADHC)/Community Based Adult Services (CBAS): Community-Based Adult Services (CBAS)” became effective on April 1, 2012, under the California Bridge to Health Care Reform Wavier . CBAS offers services to eligible older adults and/or adults with disabilities to restore or maintain their optimal capacity for self-care and delay or prevent inappropriate or personally undesirable institutionalization. CBAS services include: an individual assessment; professional nursing services; physical, occupational and speech therapies; mental health services; therapeutic activities; social services; personal care; a meal; nutritional counseling; and transportation to and from the participant’s residence and the CBAS center. CBAS replaced Adult Day Health Care (ADHC) services which were an optional benefit under the Medi-Cal Program through February 29, 2012. CBAS is a Medi-Cal Managed Care benefit (funding source) available to eligible Medi-Cal beneficiaries enrolled in Medi-Cal Managed Care.
Non-Public Schools: California’s nonpublic schools (NPS) are specialized private schools that provide services to public school students with disabilities. Nonpublic, nonsectarian school (nonreligious) is a private, nonsectarian school that enrolls individuals with exceptional needs pursuant to an individualized education program. The tuition of a student in an NPS is paid by the public Local Education Agency that places the student in the NPS based on the student’s individual needs. Unlike other private schools, each NPS is certified by the California Dept. of Education.
Case Studies:
Adult Day Care: A Register Nurse with over 20 years of experience in both the residential care and day care industry found herself over extended and losing control over the quality of services she was providing. Faced with labor and licensing issues, she needed a fast sale to an experienced operator before regional center pulled all of her clients. A-Med Realty Group was able to find her an experienced operator who was approved by both the Dept. of Social Services and Regional Center. Buyer was approved to take over operations immediately in order to preserve the health and safety of clients and maintain the census.
Adult Day Health Care Center/Community Based Adult Services: A retiring physician who had been in the industry for 30 years was looking for someone to help him navigate the complexity of selling a facility that was going through regulatory changes with the ADHC conversion to CBAS. A-Med Realty Group was able to find him a buyer who was new to the industry by providing the buyer with a wealth of information on the changing dynamics of the ADHC Industry and directing him to the appropriate sources to obtain reliable information about the future of the industry.
